Sherwood, D. (2024). The Indochina Entomologist 1 (23): 189-235.

Abstract

Miscellaneous notes on the nomenclature of spiders are presented, resultant are: 6 new synonymies; 7 subspecies raised to, and 2 restored to, species level; 40 taxa are proposed as nomina dubia; 1 subspecies is declared a subspecies inquirenda, and 112 species described based on juvenile type material are proposed as species inquirendae. For Theraphosidae, Aphonopelma hesperum (Chamberlin, 1917) and Plesiopelma imperatrix Piza, 1976 are proposed as nomina dubia: the former is an immature holotype from an unknown Mexican locality, the latter has an uninformative description and its holotype was lost in the Instituto Butantan fire.
