Taxonomic History
- 1990 Phoneyusa celerieri Smith, 1990
- 1990 Smith (1990) published the name as Phoneyusa celerieri, a lapsus calami — the species honours the French arachnologist Marie-Louise Célérier, so the epithet should be feminine. Schmidt (1993, 2003) used celerierae, and Gallon & Wendt (2015) moved the species to Hysterocrates. Abegg et al. (2016) sought to restore the original spelling. Sherwood, Blick & Ballarin (2025) reject that and maintain celerierae.
