Holotype male of Monocentropus longimanus Pocock, 1903, now Satyrex longimanus comb. nov. Zamani et al. (2025) report that it appears to have been LOST: only a schematic illustration of its bulb, with the embolus broken, is available in the literature. Their account of the male therefore rests on Pocock (1903), Smith (1990) and Schmidt (2003). Collection date not stated; 1903 is the year of description.
Female of Satyrex longimanus collected with the holotype and held at the NHMUK for over a century; examined and described for the first time by Zamani et al. (2025). Total length 40.45 mm. Not a type: the paper lists it under other material examined.
