Holotype male of Harpactirella karrooica Purcell, 1902, South African Museum no. 3432. Purcell collected it himself: "One male (type, No. 3432), 1 large female and 3 immature examples collected by myself round the village of Prince Albert" (Purcell 1902, Trans. S. Afr. Phil. Soc. 11: 344). No date is given. Coordinates are the village of Prince Albert.
