Two females of Ischnocolus elongatus, collected by hand from burrows 18-20 cm deep at a density of 11 burrows per 4 square metres.

Taxonomic History

2026
Korba & Opatova (2026) revalidated Luphocemus insidiosus Denis, 1960 out of this species' synonymy, and list I. elongatus among the names that belong "in part" to Luphocemus. They stop short of transferring it: the male they described as I. elongatus in 2022 is not conspecific with L. insidiosus, and they defer a species based on both sexes to a later paper. The name is left in Ischnocolus here because no transfer was made.
