Taxonomic History
- 2026 Ono et al. (2026) mark this species as not rediscovered since its original record before 1970 in their checklist of the Myanmar fauna.
- Recorded in Myanmar from Tanintharyi Region (Ono et al., 2026).
- 2026 Smith, Daniel & Vignaud (2026) declare this species — and with it the genus Cyriopagopus, of which it is the only member — a nomen dubium. Smith and Daniel examined a fragmentary juvenile at the Zoological Survey of India in September 2001 and believed it to be the type; in July 2025 the current curator confirmed it cannot be found and is deemed lost. A Zoological Survey of India report for 1942–1945 states that all arachnological type material, along with the accession books, was destroyed in September 1943 when the Varuna river flooded the Kaiser Building, the wartime emergency refuge for the Indian Museum and ZSI collections.
