Holotype male of Psalmopoeus drolshageni, examined only through the photographs published by Cifuentes & Bertani (2022) as P. reduncus. A paratype female and an immature share the same catalogue number.

Described entirely from already-published material: the male and female Cifuentes & Bertani (2022) figured as Psalmopoeus reduncus. The holotype is the specimen whose palpal bulb and tibial apophysis appear as their figs 183-189; both were examined here only through those published photographs.
