2. Junior synonym of Psalmopoeus reduncus (Karsch, 1880) (Cifuentes & Bertani, 2022).
3. Restored. Peñaherrera-R. et al. (2025) removed this species from synonymy with P. reduncus. The synonymy rested on spermathecal morphology without examination of the types, and the lectotype female of P. reduncus has an eviscerated opisthosoma, so its spermathecae cannot be known at all. None of the material Cifuentes & Bertani examined came from the Cordillera Central, the population now confirmed to carry the name P. reduncus. A Barro Colorado Island female they figured as P. reduncus in fact matches the P. intermedius holotype, giving the species its first precise locality — and raising the possibility that it is extinct or highly endangered there, since every modern Panamanian record is P. pulcher.
