Taxonomic History
- 1995 Tapinauchenius brunneus Schmidt, 1995
- Known only from the holotype male until Cifuentes & Bertani (2022) redescribed the male and described the female for the first time, from a specimen collected at Porto Velho, Rondonia, Brazil in 2013 (MZUSP 76529). The female spermathecae taper to the tip, which separates them from those of T. gretae.
