Etymology

A name in apposition honouring Dayuma Kento (c. 1930-2014), matriarch of the Waorani nation and the first Wao woman to make sustained contact with the outside world, a key figure in the transformation of the Waorani of the Ecuadorian Amazon and a symbol of the struggle for her people's rights and territory.
