Non-type material of Chilocosmia dichromata: 2 males, 5 females and 3 juveniles. The males are the basis for the first description of the sex.

Taxonomic History

  1. 1992
    Chilocosmia dichromata Schmidt & von Wirth, 1992 Originally described in Chilocosmia, transferred to Selenocosmia by Raven (2000) and then to Orphnaecus by West et al. (2012). Acuña et al. (2025) revalidated Chilocosmia on lyrate morphology, the setae on the dorsal palpal patella and male palpal organ morphology, and restored the original combination. The male is described here for the first time.
