Type Locality: collected 1 mile up the road (42 Forest Rd.) from the lookout trail, Cochise Co., Arizona

Of 10 adult males, 0 of 10 (0%) fall in the six wettest months, and 6 of 10 (60%) in the six warmest. Collections peak in October. The warmer half of the year is much the closer fit here.

Etymology
The specific epithet is a noun in apposition taken from type locality, the Chiricahua Mountains outside of Portal, Arizona, where this new species appears to be endemic.
