Etymology
The specific epithet is a Latin adjective, meaning ‘spined’ and refers to the presence of spines on the ventral maxillae.

Paratype female of Chinchaysuyu spinosa. Collected 22 February 2022. Its two pairs of seminal receptacles are considered a genital anomaly by Kaderka (2024).
