Etymology
The specific epithet is a noun in apposition, in honour of Taryn Ghia's mother, Betty Zoraida Quezada Moreno - "with love, bettycita" - described by her daughter as always a feisty woman, her best friend and advisor.

Holotype male of Cymbiapophysa bettycita, also bearing the older collection number MYGA-190. Two caveats carried over from the paper. First, the label reads 1500 m, which the authors correct to 1250 m as the elevation at the labelled coordinates. Second, the coordinates place the specimen about 10 km ENE of San Francisco de las Pampas itself; earlier workers had concluded that G. Onore's material from this locality is imprecise and that the name should be read as a wide area between 600 and 2000 m, so the authors restrict the type locality to the coordinates rather than the village. Note also that the label photographed as fig. 6 reads 78 55'00"W, while the type-material section and the discussion both transcribe 78 53'00"W, a difference of about 3.7 km; the published transcription is used here.
