Mean monthly rainfall and temperature 2001–2020 near the type locality, Rio Branco, Acre, Brazil. MERRA-2 via NASA POWER, for a grid cell averaging 239 m. Wet and dry seasons, from the rainfall at the locality itself.

Etymology

The specific name is a patronym in honour of one of the greatest Latin American mygalomorph taxonomists, the Argentinian arachnologist Berta S. Gerschman de Pikelin (1905–1977).
