Taxonomic History

  1. Type species of Devicarina by original designation. Sherwood et al. (2025) found it and D. guidonae clearly misplaced in Hapalopus, the palpal bulb keels differing strongly from that genus — the name is Latin devius, deviating, plus carina, keel. They also amend the keel identification given in the original description.
