Mean monthly rainfall and temperature 2001–2020 near the type locality, Calmucó, Malargüe Department, Mendoza, 1355 m. MERRA-2 via NASA POWER. Southern hemisphere — seasons are inverted, so December is midsummer.

Etymology

A noun in apposition from Mapudungun, meaning "family" or "lineage" — for the author's family, and in recognition of the Mapuche people who historically inhabited the region where the species was found.
