Taxonomic History
- 2025 Allegue et al. (2025) describe the female for the first time — and in doing so remove the one the species already had. The female MACN-Ar 32688, made a paratype by Ferretti (2015), is not conspecific with the holotype male and is reassigned to Euathlus basalticus. Four females and a second male from Junín de los Andes settled it: the male matches Ferretti's description, the females did not match the old paratype. MACN-Ar 47712 is the female now described for the species.
