Holotype and paratype females of Ewok aycaramba, labelled only "Eurypelma", "vel. aff.". The same jar held six immatures (3 females, 3 males) and two smaller juveniles, all excluded from the type series.

Described from two females in a Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle jar from the Eugène Simon collection, labelled only Eurypelma "vel. aff.". Six immature specimens in the same jar are excluded from the type series, along with two smaller juveniles that are probably but not certainly conspecific.
