Etymology

The species epithet is a noun in apposition derived from north Bolivian Quechua, yuraq means white and chanka means leg, combining to form white leg, in reference to the colouration of this species in life, which has white coloured setae on the dorsal

Taxonomic History

  1. The male figured as Hapalotremus albipes by Pérez-Miles et al. (1996, fig. 23) was re-identified as this species by Sherwood et al. (2021).
