Etymology
Named in homage to the Yanomami people. The type locality lies in Yanomami indigenous territory, within an area overlapping Pico da Neblina National Park in Amazonas - for the Yanomami a sacred place, the home of the Spirits.
Specimen Records (3)
Holotype female of Jambu yanomami. Carapace 5.57 mm long. Its spermathecae, of two separate receptacles, are the diagnostic character for the species.
Paratype male of Jambu yanomami, the specimen described in the paper. Carapace 5.82 mm long. Note that the fig. 5 caption calls it the male holotype; the holotype is the female INPA ARA9118, and fig. 4 correctly calls this specimen the male paratype.
Three males of Jambu yanomami listed under other material examined, and the basis for the species' recorded presence in Roraima. The paper gives their catalogue numbers as INPA ARA9118 and ARA9119, which are the numbers already assigned to the holotype and paratype from Amazonas; the same two numbers cannot also denote three Roraima males, so the numbers for this lot should be treated as unresolved.
