Etymology

The specific epithet refers to the São Francisco River, one of the most important Brazilian rivers, being almost 3,000 kilometers in length.

Taxonomic History

Included in the morphometric analysis of Marquezin-Gomes et al. (2026), which found no measurable shape or size character separating Lasiodora species from Lasiocyano sazimai. The genera remain distinguishable only on stridulatory setae, present here on coxae I–II, and on colour.
