Etymology
A noun in apposition from the Latin emergens, rising up, honouring the members of the Red de Aracnología Emergente Latina for their work creating opportunities for students and early-career arachnologists since 2020.

Holotype female of Neischnocolus emergens — formerly the paratype female of Ami pijaos, found not to be conspecific with the male that bears that name. Catalogued as ICN-Ar-997 by Pérez-Miles et al. (2008) and as ICN-Ar-1997 by Peñaherrera-R. & Guayasamin (2025).

- 2025 Neischnocolus emergens Peñaherrera-R., 2025
- The holotype is the paratype female of Ami pijaos Jimenez & Bertani, 2008. Revising the Instituto de Ciencias Naturales collection, the author found she was not conspecific with the male that bears the name: her spermathecae and Type Id urticating setae are those of Neischnocolus, while the holotype male belongs to a new genus, and the two were collected hundreds of kilometres apart. Since the male is the name-bearing type, the female needed a name of her own.
- 2008 Pérez-Miles et al. (2008) catalogue this specimen as ICN-Ar-997, where Peñaherrera-R. & Guayasamin (2025) give ICN-Ar-1997. The original also supplies coordinates for Puerto Boyacá, printed with the hemispheres swapped as "5°50'9"S, 74°23'16"N"; read as 5°50'9"N, 74°23'16"W they place the locality correctly.
