Etymology

A noun in apposition from the Latin <i>emergens</i>, rising up, honouring the members of the Red de Aracnología Emergente Latina for their work creating opportunities for students and early-career arachnologists since 2020.

Holotype female of Neischnocolus emergens — formerly the paratype female of Ami pijaos, found not to be conspecific with the male that bears that name. Catalogued as ICN-Ar-997 by Pérez-Miles et al. (2008) and as ICN-Ar-1997 by Peñaherrera-R. & Guayasamin (2025).
