Etymology

A noun in apposition from the parish of Moraspungo, within canton Pangua, where the type locality lies. The name also honours the Frente de Defensa del Agua, la Vida y la Naturaleza del Canton Pangua, a grassroots group of local farmers and rural residents opposing mining in the area through peaceful protest and collective action.
