Type Locality: Brazil: Acre: Embira River
Etymology
The specific name means “huge” in Latin. The specimen was found with a label written by Brazilian arachnologist, Cândido Mello-Leitão, stating “Phormictopus grandis, typus”. However, the species has remained unpublished until now.
