Mean monthly rainfall and temperature 2001–2020 near the type locality. MERRA-2 via NASA POWER, for a grid cell averaging 1830 m. Southern hemisphere — seasons are inverted, so December is midsummer.

Etymology

The specific epithet refers to the type locality and means fortress spelling in “quechua” (original language from the people of the Andes).
