Etymology

The specific epithet is a patronym in honour of the researcher and teacher Neis J. Martínez for his relevant contribution to the knowledge of the ecology of several groups of arthropods in the Colombian tropical dry forest.

Holotype male of Spinosatibiapalpus neisi. Collected 21 October 2022 as a subadult from a silk-lined burrow and reared to maturity on 28 March 2023.
