Mean monthly rainfall and temperature 2001–2020 near the type locality, Peru, Apurímac, Abancay. MERRA-2 via NASA POWER, for a grid cell averaging 3353 m. Wet and dry seasons, from the rainfall at the locality itself.

Etymology

The specific name refers to the type locality near the city of Abancay in Apurímac Department, Peru, and to one of two possible explanations of the origin of the word Abancay.
