The specific epithet is a patronym honoring Dr. Ajith Kumar of the Wildlife Conservation Society, India, for his support and encouragement to the author.

Paratype female of Haploclastus ajithii; same data as the holotype. One paratype was found with an egg sac and another with hatchlings.
