Abstract

Khantao gen. nov. is described from western Yunnan, China, for four selenocosmiine species: three new (K. talpoides sp. nov., K. xuanae sp. nov., K. ya sp. nov.) and Selenocosmia xinhuaensis Zhu & Zhang, 2008, transferred as K. xinhuaensis comb. nov. The genus is characterised by a single row of lyra setae forming a harp-like structure and a single row of distally thread-like strikers, both lost entirely in K. ya. Its tribal placement within Selenocosmiinae is left unassigned.
