Mean monthly rainfall and temperature 2001–2020 near the type locality, Tungurahua Province, El Copete, 3250 m. MERRA-2 via NASA POWER. Wet and dry seasons, from the rainfall at the locality itself.
Etymology
A patronym for Lou Jost — mathematician, population geneticist and orchid taxonomist — for his work protecting Ecuadorian diversity through the EcoMinga foundation.

Holotype male of Homoeomma josti, taken in a yellow pan trap set from 25 March to 4 April 2024 (QCAZ). Total length 20.07 mm.
Paratype female of Homoeomma josti, hand collected. Source of the female description, the internal genitalia figures and the living habitus photograph.
Paratypes of Homoeomma josti: six males and one female, same yellow pan trap data as the holotype, split between QCAZ, ZMH, DTC and ZIMG.
