- 1923 Hapalopus rectimanus Mello-Leitão, 1923
- 1996 Pérez-Miles et al. (1996) examined the type and moved the species from Hapalopus to Plesiopelma - it lacks the few labial cuspules of Hapalopus and shares the bulb, the palpal rastellum and the nodule on metatarsus I of Plesiopelma: Plesiopelma rectimanus, new combination.
