Taxonomic History
- 1923 Pamphobeteus roseus Mello-Leitão, 1923
- 2025 Moeller, Galleti-Lima & Guadanucci (2025) compared this species with its sister P. longisternale using landmark-based geometric morphometrics of the sternum. The two remain distinct, but on a ratio rather than a length: 1.17 ± 0.07 here against 1.42 ± 0.11 in P. longisternale. Female morphotypes overlap partially, and the authors advise against using spermathecal shape or the ventral femoral setae to tell the two apart.
