Taxonomic History
- 2023 Reversopelma herzogi Gabriel, Sherwood & Pérez-Miles, 2023
- Transferred to Vitriemboli by Peñaherrera-R. et al. (2025) on urticating setae and male palpal bulb morphology. Its describers had placed it in Reversopelma only on the similarity of the non-sinuous filiform embolus to that of the type species, and had said plainly that the placement was tentative and that the genus needed revising. Peñaherrera-R. et al. also confirm an error in the original description: what was labelled the apical keel at the tegular extension is in fact the prolateral superior keel.
- The species is still known only from the type locality in southern Bolivia.
